What is it like for a Caucasian to pastor and minister in an Asian American church? Pastor Matty Blevins shares all in this conversation with DJ Chuang. Well, not everything, but some things he’s learned along the way, since he’s only been in a non-white church context for a year and a half.

About Matty Blevins

Pastor Matty Blevins serves as the English Pastor of Japanese Christian Church of Walnut Creek (JCCWC), since April 2019.

Pastor Matty has over 17 years experiences as a pastor, guest speaker and mentor of Christian leaders, and spent the last 14 years pastoring at Castro Valley First Baptist Church. He graduated from San Jose City College, San Jose City College, San Jose Christian College (which is now William Jessup University) and Western Seminary. Before becoming a vocational pastor, Pastor Matty worked as a management consultant in Silicon Valley specializing in workplace productivity, generational leadership and workplace violence prevention and response.
